Contact information to account issues
-
I really am shocked this hasn’t already been done but…
Why is there not support for when I can’t log into my account? Due to having to change my password(I have a terrible memory when I don’t log in every single day) and basically got locked out of my account because the e-mail sending took 30 minutes.
That in itself would be fine, but I looked up this problem, and apparently the ONLY way to get any kind of attention is to log into the forums….which you can’t do if you can’t log into your account! GOD FORBID you got outright hacked and had to report it, or had a security flaw and your settings weren’t responding. For what conceivable reason is there not a special section for account issues that at the very least assure we can make use of our service and deal with major security issues?! I don’t care how backed up the site is, there is zero excuse for at the very least a means to contact that doesn’t require ‘wait in the forums until someone cares enough’
I keep a backup of all my work but that doesn’t help my following or the setup to my blog. Seriously wordpress, fix this. I’m not asking much to have a section that says “If you have issues getting into your account or you have had your security compromised.”
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You are logged in under this account https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/lostvideomike or you could not posted a thread here so be clear about that.
Being unable to remember a password is an indication that you need you write it down on paper with a pen or pencil so you have it on hand and can use it when required.
I tagged this thread for Staff to take notice of your issues, concerns and feedback. Please subscribe to it so you are notified when they respond. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

I have blogged for 10 years. I have answered questions here for 9 years. I predate all but one Support Staff member being on Staff and I predate the support docs.
Based on my experience re: hacked accounts and blogs if anyone is posting anything to your blog or removing anything from it, or if your blog has been deleted and you did not delete it, then it’s most likely that you have provided them with the ability to do so, either deliberately by adding them as official users, or by allowing them access to your login information, or by posting content that makes it easy for them to guess what your log-in information is.
In situations like those the question that needs to be asked our yourself and answered by yourself is:
Who, aside from me, has access to my login information? Please feel free to bookmark what follows in case your blog is hacked and you have to use it.
Go to your email program and change the password to a very difficult one because that’s how many hackers gain access to blogs.

1. If you can log-in go here > Users > All Users and delete any user that does not belong there.
2. Disable post by email > http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-by-email/
3. Disable post by voice > http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-by-voice/
4. Change your blog password to a very difficult one > http://en.support.wordpress.com/passwords/#change-your-password
You can also reset your password via your Settings tab on the WordPress.com home page:
http://wordpress.com/#!/settings/5. Use a secure, encrypted connection to connect to your Dashboard. Under Users → Personal Settings, check the box that says “Always use HTTPS when visiting administration pages, and click Save Changes.
6. Use two step authentication http://en.support.wordpress.com/security/two-step-authentication/
7. Run a security scan on your computer.
