“Contact me” link

How can I put a “contact me” link with my email on the sidebar
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

A couple themes have contact templates built in. Yours does. Create a page but in Attributes, where it says parent, choose Contact Me instead. Name the page contact or contact me or whatever you wish and publish it. It will appear in your nav bar.
btw, there is no www in your url and you can link your blog to your user name (please do) by following the steps in point #2 of the forum sticky called 8 Things to Know.

ellaella, am i supposed to see “contact me” as a choose under attributes built into the template, because i don’t
-
Thank you, but I assure you there’s no halo in ellaland. :)
Where it says Parent is a drop down box. Drop it down. I know it’s there because I checked on my test blog using your theme.

Thanks for the tip about entering my address and I think I may have accidentally or intentionally gotten rid of that choice because it’s not one of them… the only page options in the drop down box under parent are the ones I created… and “parent” itself is not a drop down box if that’s what you meant
-
Please look at this diagram. With your theme I have Parent (where contact me is) and Order. No Template (where contact is in some themes). You are creating a page, not a post, right?
-
i am creating a page and i did look at the link you added above and yet, in my drop down menu are only titles of pages i created… is it possible that i deleted that option by getting rid of a page or something
-
You know, my test blog is such a mess from nearly 2 years of changing and to-ing and fro-ing, it’s possible that’s there from something I did who knows when. So do this:
Create a page named Contact Me using the normal attribute (no parent). In the editor enter only this: [contact-form]
Publish it. Voila. Little basic form.

I spoke to soon, what do you mean when you say “In the editor enter only this:”
what is the editor? – the html part of the post? and what will entering [contact-form] do?
Thanks again. -
That’s correct.
It will create a contact form, just like the one on my blog: http://carocat.co.uk/contact/

i hope there are “no stupid questions” because here’s my follow up:
where does the post go when the person submits something on the contact page?
how does it get to me? -
ooops forget that question, i just found out after sending my own…
thanks everyone!
this is a great service -
It goes directly to your email, but I see you’ve figured that out.
You’re welcome, happy blogging!
