Contact Page

I searched the forums and found a “[contact-form]” tag for this but for some reason it didn’t work. I did as was suggested and entered it into the post under the HTML view. I just want a simple form to put on a contact page so people can email me directly if they desire. Any ideas why this wouldn’t work?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It’s possible it only works on your theme under the Visual editor. Try that.

Make sure you are not copying and pasting from the contact form support page. Type it into the HTML tab.

You’ve helped me yet again lol. Thanks so much. Quick question though- what is wrong with copy and pasting it? I don’t understand the difference and I am trying my best to learn all of this so I can stop harassing you guys lol.

For the codes to show up in the support documents, they have to use special code that isn’t visible and when you paste that in it will not function correctly.

Ah- I see. Now, I tested out the form to see if it would work but took it back down so I can work on the page a bit more. Is it supposed to be a box? No place for people to input their name, website or anything like that? Or did I do something wrong. I don’t really mind as long as it is functional.

When you look at the page while logged into wordpress, you will not see the username or email or website fields since wordpress knows who you are and will fill that information in for you. If you log out, you will see the name, email and website fields.

Also make sure and turn comments off for that page so that you will not have two boxes appearing on the page – if you haven’t already.
