I literally just finished my site, then wordpress seemed to have crashed.
Now it shows error 404 when typing in my web address.
In the wordpress account there it a red icon which says ‘This site can not be accessed’?

I have cleared cache etc but nothing. It is like nothing exists.

  • Seems you need help with self-hosted WordPress.

Could you post your question to self-hosted forums here: https://wordpress.org/support/

This forum is only to help WordPress.com users. Yours seems to be a self-hosted WordPress.org based site. So please post your questions to .org forums.

WordPress.org forums require a separate account which you can create at https://wordpress.org/support/register.php

In case you haven’t got a chance to know the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org (self-hosted WordPress site), I encourage you to check it: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

My website definitely was made in wp.com as per my browse history (been using it for a over a year).
I was somehow able to link it to my personal webspace (have no idea how i did that, as i spoke to my provider and they were not sure either).

I am in wp.com account now where it recognises a theme (which I’m assuming is my edited site)but one clicking it, has the red icon telling me that ‘This site cannot be accessed’

In my wp.com account It is also asking me to update ‘JETPACK’ in which when i go to update, I get an error as well

“The requested URL /wordpress/wp-admin/plugins.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.”
