Need help with a malware issue. Hosting is through network solutions, but they told me I need to update WordPress version. Unable to log in to my admin page. Website is hdcap.com.
I’m sorry to hear that you are having trouble. However, hdcap.com is a self-hosted WordPress.org blog, which we really can’t help with.
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
WordPress.org has complete documentation and support sites for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress.org at http://codex.wordpress.org/ and http://wordpress.org/support/

I think I figured it out…maybe some people get to the post through the ‘home’ page, and not through the link to the post itself? The numbers of the total views (for both the post itself and the ‘home’ page) do reflect the ‘like’ numbers for the post. Great to know the support option exists here! Have a good evening!

@616adventures
Are you following the instructions here:

Yes, Raincoaster’s suggestion is going to be the easiest way for us to help troubleshoot.

That doesn’t look like what you should be ending up with by following the Paypal instructions here:

My domain i had purchase from wordpress had expired a little while ago and now when i log in to renew it, i don’t see any option to renew the domain. How can i retrieve my domain name http://www.thekingsmarketing.com, so i can renew it and continue using wordpress.
-
.thekingsmarketing.com, – is in Redemption – you will need staff help to renew it – staff-ozmodiar can help you when he checks this thread today

It looks like your domain thekingsmarketing.com expired 54 days ago on 2014-01-07.
Domain expiration is a lengthy and complicated process that takes about 80 days. During this time, your domain may be put up for auction or sold on back-order. You can learn more about expired domains here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/
The good news is that we may still be able to recover your domain if it has not yet been deleted or purchased by someone else. A late renewal fee of $80 will be added to the regular price of renewal. This fee is charged by the domain registry and is not one which we can waive.
If you wish to continue with the renewal process and agree to pay the renewal fees + $80, please let me know and I will send you a payment request.
If not, you can wait out the rest of the expiration process and see if the domain is released. However, do be advised that this is risky, as someone else can purchase the domain out from under you and it may not become available in the future.

Hi, there I think my domain is up for renewal in april and right now I am not working so I need to cancel my domain renewal so it doesn’t take it out of my account and then I have to get refunded? What can be done so this doesn’t happen? Can I get a cancellation email confirming that this will be done or should I cancel it now to prevent any issues in April?
Please let me know, I think I paid $18.00 for domain and I am not sure if that is the same cost for renewal, but regardless I need to cancel effectively since I am not using this blog/domain anymore.
Thanks for your kind assistance and attention in this matter.
-
Sorry for the delay, your post got missed somehow.
I have disabled auto-renewal on your domain, norwalkwritersworkshop.com. You will likely receive a few expiration warning emails, but you can ignore them if you do not with to renew and your domain will simply expire.

rootjosh,
Can you tell me what the problem is from looking at that code? I do not have control over the paypal account personally, but I do know the organization did follow the directions and has made buttons for other pages.
Also, would this have anything to do with my page being a free page? -
WIthout access to the paypal account, I cannot set up the paypal button. It shouldn’t have anything to do with your site being free.
When you say that they have set up buttons for other pages, do you mean that they have set up buttons for other WordPress.com sites? Or just other places on the internet?
-
Yes I understand that you cannot set it up, rather wondering if you were able to diagnose the problem by looking at the code.
It is another WordPress.org -
A WordPress.org site would not use the same PayPal button system that WordPress.com uses. You would likely be able to use standard Paypal embed codes on a self-hosted WordPress.org site. We are unable to use that code here due to security concerns. The method that must be used on WordPress.com is the one listed here:
