Contact Us says Invalid

I originally took the Contact page off of this theme and then later decided I would prefer to have it back. When I put it back today it now says Invalid. Why is this?

There is no contact page, it won’t show up. It says this when I am managing the pages that it is invalid.

There is a saved contact page at the link I shared in my earlier post – it can be added to your menu using My Site > Customize > Menus.
Can you describe what you are clicking on when you see the message, and what the exact wording is? You can also upload a https://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/ if you’d prefer.
For example – are you clicking on My Site > Pages, and seeing an error when you edit Contact Us? Or is this happening somewhere else? :)

I am not sure how you are getting the link above. The original theme had a contact on the top of the webpage as the last item on the menu. As I said, I removed it and then realized I would prefer to have this. Now you do not see it on the menu even though the theme allowed for three pages.
I want the top of my website to say home, about, contact us. All the website says now is home, about and a search button

Okay thanks! You’re managing your menu, not the actual pages, now I understand why were were on different things!
When you deleted your original contact page, that link was broken – the page it points to doesn’t exist on the site any more because it’s in the trash.
Then you created a new Contact page (calling it Contact Us). This is a new, separate page, with a separate address – so it doesn’t connect to the old broken menu link.
Remove the link from your menu like this:
– Click on My Site > Customize > Menus
– Choose the menu you want to edit (in this case, Primary)
– Click on the red Invalid item, and use the Remove link
– Now the old, broken link is gone
– Use the Add Items button to add a new link, selecting the Contact Us page you’ve made
– Save & PublishEssentially, you’re removing the link to the old, deleted page (which is invalid) and replacing it with a link to your new, working page :)

Thank you. I wish you guys would go back to the old dashboard solely. This new way is too complicated and not easy to use or work with. The old way made more sense.

You’re welcome! There are some differences between the two yes. Some things (like marking deleted pages as invalid in your menu) will be the same or similar.
Generally, I’d recommend always using My Site > Customize > Menus to change your menu – doing it this way instead of using WP Admin means you can see what you’re doing in the preview while you work :)
