  Also, it may be helpful to understand the difference between WordPress.com (the hosting service) and WordPress (the open-source software project that lives at WordPress.org).

  WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

  You have reached staff for WordPress.com. So if you have a site hosted here with us (or would like to have one!), please let us know what we can do to help. But if you have a site built with the WordPress open-source software from WordPress.org then I’m afraid there’s not much we can do. We may be able to point you in the right direction. But because your site files do not reside on our servers and we have no access the the backend of your WordPress install, we can’t really troubleshoot or assist with sites that are not hosted here on WordPress.com.
