[contact_form], Disabling “Comment” and “Date” text on post
-
I am setting up a business blog and I can’t get the [contact_form] to work. I’ve tried viewing as a “visitor,” and I still don’t see it on the “Contact” page.
Also, I’ve tried disabling the “Comment” and post date on the one and only blog post. I successfully accomplished this on the pages … I’ve had no luck on the post.
How do I accomplish the above?
Thank you!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

First off, do NOT copy and paste the code into the editor. Always type it in. The code in the support document is coded so that it is not interpreted and will not work if you copy and paste.
Also, type the code into the HTML tab, not the visual tab. Putting it into the HTML tab works every time whereas putting it in the visual tab can be problematic.

I will never copy and paste code into the editor again!
I’ve been back into the contact page and went into HTML and changed. Still nothing.

In the theme Vigilance, when comments are turned off on pages there is no clue that comments could ever be made. But when you turn comments off on a page, the post will continue to have “Comments Off” on it. Also the date on posts can not be deleted without CSS (if then?)

I’ve already been in the “Discusson” settings and disabled everything to do with comments. In fact, I did that first.

Re: the contact form issue, if you are logged in it will say
“Logged in as YOUR_NAME”
and there will be a blank white box with a thin black border. -

That’s an illustration of how the comment box looks when
a person is not logged in to WordPress
and also how it will look if a person is logged in.I think I have a picture above the contact form on my blog and something that tells people to leave a message.

just tried coming in to blog as a visitor. I’m still seeing “No Comments Yet” at the top of the post, and the [contact_form] on the “Contact” page.
Didn’t see “Logged in as ……”

On posts, you can’t eliminate the date or “Comments Off”
(I don’t know CSS, but maybe then it’s possible?)[contact_form]
should be [contact-form] -
I changed the “_” to “-” —- and it works!!!
I’ll go with that changed (thank you!) for now, and see what I can find on the web regarding the other issue.
Thank so much for your help!
Happy Holidays to all!

The “comments off” would have to be done via CSS, and the thing is that most likely that div is the same one used for posts, so hiding it on that page would hide it on all other pages and posts as well, so you would have no comments links anywhere.

Happy holidays to you as well!
I left a comment on your contact form, but I’m sure it’s working…
About the post / comment issue. Besides the CSS option, you could experiment with other themes. Or put your resume on pages only where dates and comments don’t appear under the conditions you have accomplished thus far.
You can update pages at will. Perhaps you don’t really need posts?
