Contacting the domain registrar
-
Hey there,
I’m not too tech-savvy and made a mistake when canceling my subscription – I didn’t retain my domain name so I can use it elsewhere and now I’m waiting for the registrar to release it so I can buy it again.
Is there any way I (or a staff member) can contact the registrar and see if they can release it? I’m on a tight schedule and would like to buy it as soon as possible.
I feel silly about this mistake, but what’s done is done, right.
Thank you for your time! -
Hi –
Are you asking about storiesbyborko.com or a different domain?
That domain will be released with in 5 days of cancellation. There’s no way to speed up that process, it is out of our hands.
If you’d like to use the domain immediately then we can restore it to your account here. You can edit the DNS records to point it to your other provider.
Write back to let us know how you’d like to proceed.

Hey!
Thank you for getting back to me!
Yes, that’s the domain I’m asking about.
I would like to use it as soon as possible, but reading on GoDaddy’s website it says “Domains are not eligible for transfer to another registrar if they are within 60 days of registration”. So if you restore it to my WordPress account I won’t be able to transfer it for a couple of months, is that correct?Thank you again for your time!

If staff restore your domain here yes you can’t transfer it for 60 days but you can map it to wherever you’d like immediately.
Or you can wait the approx 5 days until it’s released and then purchase it again elsewhere (as long as no one beats you to it). -
As @themagicrobot indicated, after we restore the domain, we can help you point it to GoDaddy’s servers, and then you can later transfer it once you’ve owned it for 60 days.
Please confirm if you want to restore it right away, then we’ll send you a payment link via email, as your original payment was refunded when you cancelled your plan.
