Contacting the owner of a private blog

I am looking to get in contact with someone who has recently set their blog to private to inquire about the domain that their site currently takes up. I ran a WHOIS search, but got no definitive results on any contact information.
Is there a way to contact the user of this blog – or does private mean absolutely no contact from the wordpress community whatsoever?

Click on the word “member” under his name, and you will understand that he has been a long time volunteer with very wise answers over a long time.

contacting owner of private blog site:https://en.forums.wordpress.com/Perhaps you have had some sort of contact with the blog owner before it was set to private? Otherwise, you can just wait until the blog owner makes that blog public again.

Thank you for your informative reply. I appreciate you taking the time to more fully answer my question.
I have never once had contact with that particular blog owner. My theory is that the site was set to private to avoid having any further traffic after the writer lost interest in his endeavors. The domain name that this person bought is kind of being wasted at this point.
A few days ago, I was approached by some fans asking if we’d make our writing a bit more serious. The first reaction of my staff and I was to go out and purchase a legitimate domain, and since this particular one wasn’t being used, we felt it would be right to contact them.
Your answer to my question gave me the necessary information that I needed. Hopefully things are resolved on the other person’s end soon.
