Contaminated Domain Name?
-
Recently, a friend received an email which had a link to my wordpress web site. He received this warning from his computer when he opened the email: ‘This message seems dangerous. It contains links to websites hosting malware. Avoid clicking links in the message.’
I thought perhaps I had put a link to a bad site on my WordPress page. So I deleted all links on my WordPress site and then put in new links, making sure I used only https:// sites. (I only have 6 links on my wordpress page.} Then, I asked my friend to try to click on my site.
He did and then did some kind of security check and it showed that there were 95 different links on my wordpress site trying to put cookies/trackers/ whatever on his computer.
He contacted a friend who works in cyber security. That person sent me this message:
‘It sounds like maybe your provider for DNS (domain name service/domain name resolution) is possibly the victim of DNS poisoning. I would suggest contacting whomever your site provider is and seeing if they can take steps to clean up their DNS.’
Any ideas if something is going on here and needs to be fixed? Thanks!
