Contempt Theme: Space Missing After Title/Date
-
Hello fellow bloggers,
In the Contempt Theme, the space has suddenly disappeared after the date and before the first sentence of my posts.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
Does anyone know whether the design was deliberately changed?
I added a line to the top of my last two posts to create a space, but I’d rather not have to do this for each one.
Any suggestions?

Just press enter before you type, so simple a solution, they probably changed the theme.

Thanks orbvab. I already tried the obvious solutions, prior to posting in this forum. I should have mentioned that neither hitting enter, nor adding the <p> tag to the code have resolved the problem.

Your blog looks fine to me, what browser/version/operating system are you using? It is fine for me with Safari 3 and Firefox.
-
I switched my test blog to Contempt and the spacing between the date and the first line of text in mine matches yours in the posts where you have not added the rule as the first line in the text. Mine matches “Another US Marine…” and “David Motari…”

Hey sacredpath… just to clarify… the space is still there in Safari and Firefox, but not in your test blog? I’m using IE7.

It looks fine to me, too, but I also use Firefox. Since when did the space disappear? Maybe there’s something wrong in the code of a post or of a widget (btw. the easiest way to add a line is to add a hr tag: <hr />)

@avrobeson
I see what you mean in IE7. IE7 is actually far from honoring web standards and most designers have to jump through a lot of hoops to get things to look right in IE7.I just checked my test blog with Contempt active, and it looks the same as yours; no space between the date and first line of text.
It’s a bug in the theme it appears.
You can do as isadora suggests and use the self-closing hr tag at the top of your post (inserted in code view) which will insert a horizontal rule above the text.

Isadora: The space disappeared on all my posts sometime last week. I did upgrade from IE6 to IE7 last week as well, but I can’t recall whether the space disappeared before or after I upgraded. If it was after… I suppose IE7 is to blame.
For now, I guess I’ll use the <hr/> tag as a bandaid solution, or switch themes, or switch to Firefox.
Thanks for your help, everyone!
