  Hello. When I write my blog. Do I own the content and no one else can use it?

  I have googled this question myself on multiple occasions. And recently, back in May, I found a relatively satisfying answer on Quora. This answer I am quoting below is by Jenny Zhu, Legal and Policy Manager at Automattic (2013-present). Here is what she had to say:

  I just want to reiterate what a couple of people have already stated: We (Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com) do not claim any ownership to content you post on your sites. To clear up confusion and avoid any doubt, we’ve added the following line to the WordPress.com section of our Terms of Service.

  You own all content you post to your website.

  Hope that clears things up!

  One last bit, I don’t think the above response from me covers the following part of your question.

  I have addressed this bit of the question’s importance mainly because, if you read through the Quora thread I have shared the link for in my response above, the last response on the thread by Charles G. Hill says the following:

  You do own it. However, they don’t assume any responsibility for it if things go south.
