Content Blocks Refuse to Unlock
-
Last week I was trying to move blocks around on a few different pages on my site and found them blocked. I followed the appropriate steps and prompts to get them unlocked but after hitting apply nothing changes. What’s going on and how can I fix this?

Hello! The blocks you’re working on may be inside a pattern, or you may be working on a Template. If you’re editing a page through the Editor, the content set on the page itself will appear locked.
To manage the content directly, you can go through the Page list on your site rather than through the Editor.
If you’d like to share a link to the page you’re working on where you see these blocks, I’d be happy to be more specific!

So it does look like I can make adjustments to the placement of the content by editing from the Pages edit selection. I initially was running into an issue with the view being very distorted, overlapping content and making paragraphs run super long as if there was increased margins, but that may have just been my slow internet connection as pages seem to load better now.
The only patterns I use are ones I created after adding and editing blocks from the Editor view and those are still freely adjustable from the patterns selection screen within the Editor. It does look like all the locked blocks are housed under the Content Template. Is there something I can adjust to allow for editing from the Editor view as I did before?
Up until about a week or so ago I had added and modified all blocks from there without any issues and I do like being able to see the content all together with the header and footer without having to view the live site and affect the site view tracking analytics.
One of the pages in question. -
Hi there,
Our developers are currently aware of the issue with the blocks becoming locked within the main Content block and not being able to unlock them. This will be changed in a future Gutenberg update.
In the meantime, we recommend editing the page in the “Pages” section of your site here: https://wordpress.com/pages/blackwavecreations.com. This will ensure you can continue to arrange and modify the blocks as usual.

Right on, thanks for the info! I appreciate how quick these responses have been, take care ya’ll!
