Content Disappears on Save
-
When I attempt to save a page I am writing, all content disappears; there’s just an empty screen. A PReview shows an empty post. If I hit the browser’s “Back” button, the content reappears. The page in question is
http://wickershamsconscience.wordpress.com/2013/07/26/hypocrisy-hall…d-year-entries/
My content does contain a hand-coded table, but WP has always accepted tables in the past.
Any ideas?

If and only if the post was created on the dashboard of your own blog at Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New then you ought to be able to recover a lost post or page from revisions if needs be. See here > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2010/03/21/wordpress-recovering-a-lost-blog-post-or-page/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-revisions/But if it was created here http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ there is no means of recovery as the auto-save is not functioning there.
Always create your posts on the dashboard of your own blog at
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New
The auto-save works there and the post will be Standard post format unless you change it.Do not create posts here > http://wordpress.com/#!/post/ where the auto-save is not working and where you are creating an Aside post format.
Use an offline blog editor so you have backups on your own computer http://en.support.wordpress.com/xml-rpc/

I may not have explained this clearly. I always copy the contents to the clipboard before saving. The content isn’t lost.
But not matter what I try to do, if I paste back in and save again, it disappears.
In 1,547 blog posts, this is the first time that content has disappeared on a save. I guess I’ll invest in MarsEdit or something, but it seems odd…

That’s weird so I’ll tag this thread for Staff help. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

Thanks for the help. I’ll be off-grid until Monday. I’ll check back then. I’ll take my laptop and try MarsEdit while the battery lasts.

Hi wickershamsconscience,
Here’s some things to try:
1) log out of WordPress.com, clearing your browser cache, and logging back in, to see if that helps resolve the issue: http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clear-your-cache-and-cookies
2) If that doesn’t help, please make sure you have third-party cookies enabled:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/3) If neither of those things work, could you try a different browser like Firefox or Chrome, and let me know if that fixes the issue?
4) Finally, it would help if you could detail exactly where and how you are creating a post. Are you using the quick post window or the standard post editor? Are you saving drafts along the way? What happens when you try to publish a post? Are you getting error messages or are your posts just not being saved?
