Content export not working

    I am not able to export my content from this blog. The page crashes when I try to use the export functionality.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    I’ve just sent an email with an export link to the email address you have listed for your WordPress.com account.

    Hi Jackie, that is amazing! Thank you so much!

    I am currently migrating this site across to a privately hosted blog, and there are masses of content. I will need to use this dump for the initial setup and then get another dump with the updated content that has been created on the original site during the building process of the new site. Can I email you when the build is complete and get another content dump?

    Thank you thank you thank you sooooo much!

    Also, is there any way that I can get a list of users that I can import into my new site?

    Thanks!

    Sorry for all these posts – I have managed to make a CSV by just selecting users on my screen in the old site and pasting into a spreadsheet then manipulating data to match the format required by this awesome plugin:

    http://wordpress.org/plugins/import-users-from-csv/faq/

    And it works! Awesome!

    The saga continues!

    I have worked out how to use a php.ini file to boost the file size that I am able to upload, now the problem is that I am getting a gateway timeout from the server when I try to run the importer through the wordpress dashboard. I have set the following in my php.ini file to try to get it to work but no luck so far:

    max_execution_time = 3000
    max_input_time = 6000
    memory_limit = 64M

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance!

    Since you have lots of blog content you might want to export your site in portions (eg posts and pages separately, or posts separately in date ranges). Follow the instructions at http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/#download-your-content to do so.

    This way you end up with multiple files that each contains a portion of your blog content. The files will be smaller than one large export file and therefore easier to import to your new site.

    Please let us know if you need any further assistance!

    Hi Kardotim

    That sounds like a great plan. I will try this when I go to do the final export as I now have enough data to style the new site around how the content will look.

    Thanks for the help!
