Content missing when changing theme?

    Hi there,

    We are currently using the Oxygen Theme for our blog. We want to switch to the free ‘Responsive’ theme on Wp.com. But when I preview it, all my content disappears. I don’t want to activate it because I don’t want all the content to disappear.

    Please Help!

    No worries — when you change to a new theme, only the aesthetics of your site are adjusted. You will not lose any of your content.

    So where does the content go? It seems like everything disappears. Do they stay on the dashboard? And we have to reorganize everything?

    The content will be saved on the server, and it will be accessible in your Dashboard under Pages, Posts, and Media Library.

    And we have to reorganize everything?

    There will be some adjustments to make, according to the manner in which your new theme is laid out. What are you concerned about, specifically?

    Specifically, I’m concerned about the layout of everything. I don’t want to switch themes and be stuck trying to figure out how to configure everything again.

    Is there anything you can do on your end to configure the site?

    Your layout will match the new theme’s design. There will be some manual adjustments you’ll need to make. However, the order of your pages/posts/widgets will remain the same.

    The new theme will have a support page that gives instructions on configuration.

    Is there anything you can do on your end to configure the site?

    We don’t configure settings, however we can certainly help if you have specific questions during the process.

    I am assuming you’ve taken a look at your prospective theme’s demo site. With some setup, your site can look/operate in the same manner.

    I see you’re currently using Oxygen. Which theme are you interested in launching?
