Content not posting right

I’m trying to link the html code into my blog for a blog hop amongst different bloggers wp.com will not allow me to post the code. is there a problem? Also, my strike out is not working and when i preview or publish my posts. it condenses it. it doesn’t publish how i want it to.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We need to see the code you are trying to put in. Post it here between backticks or code tags.

And as far as the strikeout, are you copying and pasting from another program?

Can you give us a link to a post where this is happening?

    Here’s the code to the blog hop <script src=”http://www.linkytools.com/thumbnail_linky_include.aspx?id=31239″ type=”text/javascript” ></script>

and if u go to my latest post on my page it all looks very condensed. in the draft phase i have significant space in between my paragraphs but when i publish or update it condenses it all together. http://bitchinainteasy.wordpress.com/2010/06/14/monday-potluck/

That is javascript, and javascript is not allowed here due to security concerns. Same for flash, iframes and forms (along with others). See this for more on what is and is not allowed: http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/ .

I’m seeing blank lines between paragraphs and such. With right and left aligned images, sometimes when you preview or publish a post, it can look different since the editor does not render the content exactly as it will be in the post (different widths and such). The twenty ten theme does render everything correctly in the post editor, but so far that is the only theme that does.

Exactly what are you seeing on the published post that you think is condensed. Perhaps I’m just missing it when I look.

BTW, your blog looks very nice. You’ve done a great job on it.

I see you are trying to use two spaces between sentences, is that what you are talking about?

If so, the HTML standards for sentence spacing is only one space between sentences, so one of them is being ignored when the page is rendered in the browser. It used to be that if you used one standard space, and then a non-binding space & n b s p ; (without the spaces between characters) that you could get two spaces between sentences. It could be that they have taken that out.

Thanx for the compliment and help. I’m talking about the space in between the paragraphs. it started off that i could have multiple spaces between my paragraphs and images. now it only allows one space and the paragraphs run together. am I explaining it correctly? If the other spaces are being ignored is this something that can be fixed?

The HTML standard is for one blank line between paragraphs, and I’m seeing that on your site in your Monday Potluck post and in others. When you have an image left-aligned with text wrapping around the image, if the text in that paragraph is not long enough, then the next paragraph will come up beside the image as well. What I’m seeing in your latest post is pretty much standard stuff.

Are you not seeing the paragraph breaks?

  • Unknown's avatar

sorry to be difficult but no I don’t see the breaks. I looked on the visual and html side and I did not see the breaks. Then again, I’m not really sure I know what I’m looking for.

Don’t be worried, we just need to get on the same page so to speak so I can understand what you are seeing.

Here is a screen capture of what I’m seeing in your first post (monday potluck).

Also, what operating system are you using Windows (XP, Vista, 7, etc., Mac OS X 10.x.x), and what browser and browser version are you using?

  • Unknown's avatar

Yes, that is what i’m seeing too and i want there to be space in between the pics and posts. and i’m using vista.
