  Hello,

  Recently I logged into my wordpress account to discover all of the past articles were gone. Is there a feature to check past history and see what may have happend?

  Did you have someone else set up as an administrator on the blog?

  You need to contact staff and see if they can take a look and see when the stuff was deleted and by whom: http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ .
