Continue reading / more link missing end html anchor tag in Spring Loaded theme

  Hi,

  My blog is using the Spring Loaded theme. I’ve noticed that the “Continue reading” / more link is missing the end anchor tag
  This causes display issues in Internet Explorer 7 & 8.

  Here’s an example (please view with Internet Explorer) :
  This page, http://maierhofer.wordpress.com/tag/regulations/ , has 2 display issues due to the missing a end tag. The second post’s title is pushed down in the main column and the first, right column widget “RSS Feed” breaks into two. If you look in the html source code, find the “Continue reading” part you will see the a tag is not closed properly.

  I’ve found other blogs using this same theme are suffering from the same problem, i.e.

  I’ve looked at the source code and verified that the ending tag, </a> for the read more tag is missing from the code. Most definitely contact staff on this.

  Also, could a moderator move this to the themes forum please?

  Ok, thanks I will do that. Can you tell me though, when themes are accepted by WordPress.com do they undergo html and css validation tests?

  We Volunteers are not on the Theme Team so you need to bring that to Staff attention and they will correct it.

  Yes they do, and I know for a fact that when I was checking validation on theme here just out of curiosity, Spring Loaded was valid. Staff have been doing some updates to the themes here, it is a continuous project to support new features, and this is probably something that just just happened. All themes here are being updated to support CSS3 and HTML5.

  It’s just something that was missed. Perhaps when they did their validation after some changes they did not have a read more tag inserted.
