Contramapa.com

Hello!
I have a blog contramapa.com and you said this:
‘Let me try to understand the situation again.
I see that you have a domain mapping with us. The Domain Mapping allows you to connect a domain you registered elsewhere to your WordPress.com website.
However, it looks like your site is hosted with Siteground, as I can see on this page:
http://www.whoishostingthis.com/?q=contramapa.com
The domain mapping is only necessary if you *want to use WordPress.com as your host*. If you don’t want to move from WordPress.org to WordPress.com, you can safely remove the domain mapping from here:
https://wordpress.com/purchases/
After doing this, the DNS configuration message will disappear.
Also, for the Jetpack stats, all you need to do is connect your contramapa.com site to your WordPress.com and that’s it. You can double-check the steps here:
Hope that clears the confusion, but let me know if there’s something else I can do for you. :)
I have a domain mapping that I delete because you said: ‘The domain mapping is only necessary if you *want to use WordPress.com as your host*’ but I want contramapa.wordpress.com redirect to contramapa.com !
Can you help ?The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, if what you want is to have visitors who land on contramapa.wordpress.com be redirected to your standalone WP (org) site, what you are asking for is a site redirect.
Please see here, including the note about links and SSL: https://en.support.wordpress.com/site-redirect/ This is a paid upgrade.
Let us know if you need more help with that.

Good question, folks.
For the moment, @contramapa , your domain mapping actually doubled as a site redirect, so I’ve put it back on your account. It is redirecting to https. I’ll see what I can find about SSL and the site redirect upgrade, though.

So, I found out that even with the domain mapping, it goes to http, then the server on the other side will go to https if it’s configured to do so (as it is in this case.) We assume http right now because pulling up http and getting redirected to https will not cause an error. But redirecting to https if there are SSL problems on the other side, will throw a warning.
Also, this redirect would happen whether you were using domain mapping or the site redirect tool. The only major differences is that domain mapping is intended to point here, and site redirect can send folks to a sub directory or other subdomain. Hope that helps a bit.
