Contributor Ranking Widget?

  I miss the forum-type ranking system for folks that post, specifically authors/contributors. I haven’t found a widget for this yet, but I would love to have a wordpress blog widget (not a plugin) that will allow the admin to award customizable points & ranks to contributors/authors for excellent/popular posts/articles that they contribute to the website itself. If there is not a widget for this, then I’d like to put in a hearty request for one.

  Since the ranking is entirely up to the admin and has to be updated manually anyway, why not just make a text widget with whatever bells and whistles you want?
