Control the image displayed on the main blog page for a particular post
-
I’m using Cubic theme to showcase artwork/handmade cards for a client. There are different categories of cards – Birthday, Thank You, etc. – and I want to control which image is shown on the main blog page for each category. The latest post has multiple photos but I can’t get the one I want to show on the main page. It keeps choosing the wrong one. I’ve changed dates, deleted and re-added, and separated them. I don’t want to set a header image because it gets cut off in a weird way. Once I upload 3 new photos of the latest work, how can I choose which one will be displayed on the main blog page with all of the square pics?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello,
This can be achieved through the use of ‘Featured images’ that exist within each blog post you publish.
Go to Posts/Pages> Edit>, scroll down and you will see on the lower right corner a section of ‘Featured image’.
Go ahead and press that. It will transfer you to your Media Library where you can choose an existing image or upload a new one that will be used as a Featured image of that particular post/page in your front page/blog feed.Hope it helps you :-)
Have fun..

Hi wpndesign, I too am using this great new theme Cubic but I cant seem to set several featured images to fall into a grid like the theme page shows.
The blog that i am working on is https://boothbaymaineblog.wordpress.com/ I have set one featured image but I cannot set anymore. I thought if I tagged all the images as featured then they would automatically fall into a grid pattern like i did for another webpage which i made a few years ago https://helgagomes.com/ Hope you can help me as I am tried ever which way! Thanks a lot!!! -
Hi wpndesign,
I actually got the grid to work by making 6 posts each with a featured image and all 6 fell into the grid just like I wanted to! But now i am having problems with the menus as although I did make a menu and give it a title I just cannot see it. The menu is on the right handed corner and once again my site is https://boothbaymaineblog.wordpress.com/
Thanks a lot!!!! -
Thanks for the input. I don’t want a header/featured image because it gets cut off in a weird way on the post page. It’s very horizontal on that page, whereas on the front page, there are square images.
Thx!

Hi f4mllc,
I’m not sure if you are still facing your initial issue!? I visited your site, and it now shows all your posts with featured images and in a Grid layout in the front page.
Wasn’t this what you were after? Being able to set which image shows on the front page with the different posts? Setting the featured images of each post ?Please correct me if I misunderstood :-)
