Convert domain redirect into domain on WordPress.com
-
I purchased a domain redirect to my own WordPress instance and that’s been working fine, but instead of hosting my own site, now I want to use my domain on WordPress.com. In My Domains I only see the option to use my wordpress subdomain or my own domain as a redirect. If I try to add a domain and use the same domain, I’m informed that it is already in use. How do I convert my $13 domain redirect into the $13 domain on WordPress.com?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey there!
If you’d like to use your registered domain on your WordPress.com site, you can map it to our servers. Here are the instructions:
If you’d like, I can cancel your site redirection upgrade and add domain mapping to your site. It will have the same expiration date as the original upgrade. Once you confirm that you’d like me to do this, and I take action, the site redirection to your self-hosted site will cease to function. Please make certain you’re ready for this to happen before giving me permission.
I hope this helps! If you have any other concerns, drop me a note. Thanks much!

Yes, please cancel the site redirection upgrade and add domain mapping to my site.
Thank you.

Hello there,
Could you let me know the domain name for the domain mapping? I assumed you wanted mikepearce.us to point to your WordPress.com site, mikeyroy.wordpress.com/, but wanted confirmation before I added that for you.
Thanks much.

Hi again.
All right, I’ve added that mapping to your WordPress.com site:
https://mikeyroy.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domainsIn order for it to work properly, you have to make sure the subdomain is set up properly with your domain registrar, and map your domain with WordPress.com’s name servers:
When that is done at your Registrar, you can return to Store → My Domains, and make blog.mikepearce.us your primary domain.
If you need assistance along the way, let me know. Thank you.
