convert page to post
-
I accidentally created a new page on my blog, rather than a post on my “home” page.
Can I convert a page to a post on another page?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There’s no automatic way to convert a page to post.
To achieve what you want you would need to:
1) copy the text in the page you want converted
2) create a new post (https://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/)
3) past the text into the new post and publish it.That will publish the post to your home page.

Hi Megz0114 – thanks. I’m aware of how to create a new post, though. The page I accidentally created has lots of media in it, so I was looking for an easier solution.
There seem to be some plugins available that might be a way to do this automatically, but I’m not an expert and was looking for guidance.

Plugins are only applicable to self-hosted WordPress.org blogs, not WordPress.com blogs. WordPress.com doesn’t use plugins due to security reasons. If you are interested, here is some more information on WordPress.com and plugins: https://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/
Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.

@saraovergaard – Is your site actually hosted on wordpress.com?
(See this on the difference between wordpress.org and wordpress.com–it’s not determined by what your url happens to be: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/)Assuming you are using wordpress.com:
For reasons not worth going into, I often create a post first as a (private) page and then copy it into a post format before publishing –but I only copy it from the text editor, not the visual editor. This hasn’t ever been a problem with media, from my experience, it copies right over (photos and youtube videos). I use the classic editor, by the way, not the beep-beep-boop editor.
I have to add the categories and tags, but that’s about it. Oh and the post title…
