Convert Page to Post?

I’m trying to tidy up my sidebar and would like to convert a few pages there into a regular post. I didn’t see any way to do that when I clicked “Edit,” nor did I find anything on it when I searched the forums. Is it possible to do this? I could just copy and paste the page and make a new post, but then I’d lose the comments on them. It would by nice to have an edit function that would change a “Page” into a “Post.” If I am missing it, please let me know how to go about it.

    Thanks!

I think this got buried, so I am trying to bump it up to the top again.

Specifically what I want to do is this: on my sidebar there is a Page called Books, and underneath I have a few separate pages, like “Books Read in 2007.” I’d like to turn those pages under the “Book” category back into regular posts, and then just link to them in the main “Book ” page, if that makes sense. I’m trying to just have the “Books” page and get the other pages under “Books” off the sidebar, but still keep them as posts. What I want to know is whether there is a way to convert a Page into a Post from the editor, or do I have to copy and paste the “Books Read in 2007” content into a new post and then delete this page? And if there is not a way to make this change in the editor, I’d like to suggest that a way be created, if possible.

    Thanks for any help.
