Convert portfolio projects to normal posts

    Hi everyone,

    I need help for my cookbook blog: when I created it the first time I chose the portfolio based Illustratr theme, and I created almost 300 entries. Now I would like to use a new theme that is based on normal blog posts.

    Is there something that allows me to atomatically convert my portoflio projects in standard blog posts?

    Hi! There isn’t directly a way to convert portfolios to blog posts unfortunately – it sounds like there might be a little consideration needed for this. Just to check, what theme was it that you wanted to switch to?

    If it’s one of our newer recommended themes which works with the Site Editor, then you may not even need to convert the portfolio projects over, since the method these themes use to display blog posts can also be used for portfolio projects. Feel free to let us know more about what sort of change you’re wanting to make so we can help point you in the right direction!

    Thank you so much for your answer, I dind’t know it would be possible to show my portfolio projects editing the themes with the Site Editor, now I have a much wider choice ! I have another question: because it’s not possible to convert my projects to blog posts, is there something that allows me to export them as text or to do a backup copy of some sort? Thank you so much again for your help!

    Exporting as text isn’t really possible out of the box – for something like that you’d need a plugin, which is possible on the business plan.

    What is the theme you’re looking to use and what plans do you have for the site? It sounds like you’re looking to change things up a bit?
