cooker banner and comments

  Hi there: my blog is https://deaconstories.wordpress.com
  For a few weeks now the EU law cookie banner is refusing to close. I click it to close it and it just pops back. I’ve tried uninstalling it then reinstalling it a couple of times but it’s made no difference.
  The other prob is that when I go to the comments icon (the ringing bell top right) the loading signal just goes round and round and nothing happens. This has occurred before. I know I can get to the comments under Admin but it would be good to fix this glitch anyway.

  Are you running the latest version of your browser?

  Please act on all the tips here https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/ first.

  • Make sure you are running an up to date browser version found at http://browsehappy.com
  • Make sure you have both JavaScript and third party cookies enabled https://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/#how-do-i-enable-third-party-cookies.
  • Disable any adblocker browser add-ons and all browser extensions and adons.
  • Try clearing your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache
  • Try using another browser.

  (a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.

  Hi @deacongill, I’ve gone to your site in Safari, Chrome and Firefox and I am not seeing the cookie banner issue, nor the issue with comments.

  Can you try logging out of WordPress.com, clearing your browser cache and cookies, and then log back in and try again.

  If that fails to fix the issues, can you try a different browser and see if it is happening there too?

  Hi there, I’ve done all that. The cookie banner is now resolved, but the comments still are not loading from the bell icon.

  Can you please let me know what browser you are using, including the version number? You can find that info here:

  Please also check that your browser allows JavaScript, and try disabling any ad-blocker or anti-tracking extensions, and see if that helps for the notifications issue.

  I’m using Firefox, latest version – I checked yesterday.

  I’ve been offline all day (next door builders cleverly cut through our line) but have just checked and the comments problem no longer shows.
