cookie banner for privacy law – can't reach '/wp-content/plugins/'

  Ehi guys,
  I have a new wordpress website (www.xxxxx.wordpress.com) for a volunteering association and I should add a cookie privacy banner, so I went online and I found this:
  https://wordpress.org/plugins/cookie-law-info/installation/
  I downloaded the thing but WordPress will not let me reach the /wp-content/plugins/ page.
  I know nothing about IT, could someone help me out?

  Hi Elisa,

  You can’t install your own plugins using WordPress.com, they’re only for people who have their own hosting and install a version of the software available at WordPress.org – the two types have some differences.

  However you can set up the cookie widget which is purpose built to take care of things.
