Cookie banner won't go away :(
-
@charltp5
Please remove the widget for now, and use the default banner we already display on free sites instead. This problem is caused by having both the widget and the default banner active.
Once this issue is fixed we will update this thread.

Hey,
The issue seems to be fixed on my side.
However, I have another issue with the banner on https://yumenosekaiorg.wordpress.com/
This one is at the bottom of the page and not visible if the user don’t scroll the page (at least with my screen resolution).Could you please check if you are able to fix that?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks @enwood31 – since that is a different issue from the one in the original post, could you start a new topic here?
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1Add the modlook tag and we’ll follow up there for you, so we won’t send a bunch of notifications to everyone else as we work on it.

The cookie banner widget disappeared in my premium site (https://apologetica.net.br/); I added it last night.

Hi radtrad – It’s listed as Cookies and Consent in the widget section. Try to search for those terms.

I can´t find this widget; two days ago I found it and installed it, but now it totally disappears.

@franziskarudnick, The privacy banner is displayed on your site correctly. There’s no need to add the widget as the banner is automatically displayed on all sites on the Free plan (like yours) by default.

@fstat: Thank your for your feedback!
But (I’m sorry, still have to mention that) the point is, a blogger in Europe needs a cookies & consent text in his own language.
And I can’t find any possibility, to translate the given text and to insert a link, like it was possible at the widget cookies & consent.
Can you help me with that, please? -
I had the same issue and after clearing my cookies and cache in my own mobile phone, it appears to have worked. I don’t have the above-mentioned widget installed, but one thing I have noticed is a significant decrease in bounce rate (from 80% down to 30-40%). I was wondering if maybe other mobile users are having the same issues and they’re clicking other posts just to try to get the banner to go away? My site is https://melissablevins.com and appears to be working for right now as it should.
The only other thing I can think of is that perhaps switching to Jetpack mobile theme has improved the browsability of the site?
