Cookie & Privacy Banner Widget gone

    Hello,

From one day to the next, this widget has disappeared. Until yesterday, it went out and, also, for a week, it could not be removed by clicking on “accept and close” but today, on the contrary, it does not come out and, besides, when going to check where all the widgets are, the It has also disappeared.

Please, what happens? I fear that, by not leaving, the authorities can close the blog, this seems quite urgent.

    Thank you.

Sorry, I forgot to check that I was notified by e-mail.

Do not panic, the authorities won’t close a simple blog. A lot of authorities themselve are not compliant to the GDPR.

First of all, thank you very much for the quick response.

So, has this disappeared in all wordpress blogs?

Is that I am in Europe, more specifically, in Spain and around here things are getting worse in all these issues, every time we put more restrictions.

I would not have worried so quickly if it were not for this, because in Europe they only impose all kinds of restrictions.

Sorry for the annoyance and insistence but is that, in addition to the comments above, on the rigidity of the rules in Europe, is that I just found that, in other blogs of the same type of mine, if that widget continues to come out, which means in addition that, in the desktop (WP Adm —-> Appearance —-> Widgets) in those blogs the installed widget or in the list of widgets that can be installed, should still exist, however, in mine has disappeared, in fact, I have to do more checks, but I think some more have disappeared, it is as it used to be.

I do not mean to bother, really, I just want to feel absolutely safe.

  • Hi there,

The banner on your site ramrock.wordpress.com works correctly. When I click on the accept button it disappears and doesn’t show up again.

Are you still having trouble with it?

To me, of course, it does not come out. Other users have told me that when I enter my blog if they leave, but I do not get it and, as I also indicated, it has also disappeared in the Widget menu, both in the list of available widgets, and in the bar side 1 which is where I have installed all the widgets that are seen.

I suppose that if the rest of the users see it, I should not worry because the law marks this obligation to warn people, not for me to see it, but of course, I want to be sure because, as I indicated , in Europe they are very “dumb” with the Internet, they do nothing but devise restrictive norms.

In this screenshot you can see how the blog cover comes out. It is also observed that the toolbar that comes out in the lower right corner is the old one, the small one, not the one that was currently going out that had more functions.

It’s as if everything had gone back a few years ago.

  • The privacy banner is automatically displayed on free sites like yours and therefore there’s no need to add a widget.

It is also observed that the toolbar that comes out in the lower right corner is the old one, the small one, not the one that was currently going out that had more functions.

This is the bar that appears when you’re logged in to your WordPress.com account. Users without a WordPress.com account see a different bar and other user logged-in users can customize that bar by clicking the three dots.
