Cookie Widget Missing on Premium Plan?
-
Hello,
I currently have a free site, but I am an administrator on two client sites that are on the Premium Plan. lisarobisoneditor.com and lisa-binkley.com. I am helping them to comply with GDPR, and they have EU visitors so I would like to enable the Cookie banner. However, there is no such widget as you advise from within either of their respective admin areas. I’ve looked in the customizer and the traditional back-end. I have even performed a search for “cookie”. Has the widget been disabled? Do I myself need an upgraded plan to enable features on other paid upgraded sites? Do they need to log in and do it themselves? Do they need a business plan to upload a different plugin? Am I missing something?
Thanks for any help.

Hi there,
There is currently a bug causing the widget to not be available on some Premium Plan sites.
We are working on it, and will let you know here once this is fixed.

Just out of curiosity, should this widget be available on all sites or just Premium Plan sites? I don’t have the Premium Plan, but I could swear that there was a cookie widget here. http://prntscr.com/jtxeaz

The widget should be available on all sites with a paid plan.
It was briefly available on free WordPress.com sites as well, but we removed it as we already show a cookie banner by default on all free sites to get consent for the advertising cookies we use to display targeted ads on those sites, and it was causing problems if people activated the widget in addition to the default banner.

Hi,
I have a site on a free plan, with the cookie widget configures on the widget area.
Now, event i am on the free plan and not able to see the widget anymore, the site doesn’t display the default cookie banner you talk about.
Is there anything I could do in order to display the cookie banner? It’s specially important because I use WordAds.
Thank you.

Hi,
This is the site:
It turns out that, if I pause WordAds momentarily, then the banner displays without problems, but if I re-enable WordAds again and refresh the site, then it is not able to display the banner any more.
Thank you so much!

Hi there, this has been fixed. Go to Customize > Widgets, or to Appearance > Widgets in your admin dashboard and add the Cookies & Consent banner widget to your sidebar and it will appear at the bottom of your site. Let us know if there are any issues.
