I want information about possible cookies in all plugins. To day there is none

  • Hi @perl5700, there are thousands of plugins out there. I’d recommend checking just the ones you’re using personally.

Or, if you’re looking for information about cookies associated with our services, you can find that here:

No, that’s not what I mean.
I want all companies that have announced wordpress plugins to indicate which cookies their plugin puts on visitors computers. It is quite reasonable to ask visitors today about the cookies they get on their computer when they visit a website.
And in several countries, users are required to be able to select or deselect which categories of cookies one will have before entering the site and recalling these choices.
At the same time, developers must commit to reporting their cookies in a common database.

  • Okay, I see what you mean. As @supernovia wrote, on this page you can see information about cookies associated with WordPress.com services.

We do not develop plugins and we have no control over third-party developers.

To clear up any further confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities. We, WordPress.com are a cloud-based platform where we manage WordPress sites, whereas WordPress.org is a stand-alone software that you can download and self-host with any other hosting.

You can find more details about WordPress.com and WordPress.org on this support page:

    WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

Having said that, if you’d like some changes to be implemented to WordPress.org you can contribute to its development:

I know, but that doesn’t stop you from making reasonable demands on the information the developers have to provide in order to advertise on the wordpress plugin library.

There are far too many cookies we don’t know what is used for.

    But thanks for the info!

  • that doesn’t stop you from making reasonable demands on the information the developers have to provide in order to advertise on the wordpress plugin library.

What I meant is that the plugin library is not managed by WordPress.com but WordPress.org. And I really encourage you to get involved with developing the WordPress documentation :)
