  Hi, my name is Ness and I happen to notice that after accepting and closing the cookies/privacy, the block won’t disappear and stays, as if residue, on every page I go within my website. Can this be removed?

  Hello Ness,

  Thanks for reporting this. It looks like it’s a bug with your theme, so I’ve reported it to our developers to take a look.

  I do notice you’re using a theme that was retired quite some time ago. You can still use a retired theme, but retired themes are not updated to work with the newest features, so a new feature like this cookie banner can cause them to break, and they also aren’t a priority for bug fixes, so it might be a while before this is fixed.

  So you might want to consider switching to one of our newer themes available at My Site ->Themes – that should also solve this issue, as the banner works correctly on all our current themes.

  Thank you so much for the enlightenment. And yes, this theme I selected was from way back 3 years ago already, so I guess I have to select a newer theme to have the updates.

  Hi [gemmacevans] thank you and I think I’ll be needing recos for themes that is similar to Sidekick features. Can you name a few so that I can try them out?

  Sorry for taking another shot here on my post. Though I know the theme Sidekick is already outdated and might take a while to get fixed as [kokkieh] said:

  But maybe it’s worth a try to request for the update to this theme as we were really this close in purchasing a WordPress.com Business Plan until finding out about the bug. Is this possible?

  The issue should now be fixed in Sidekick – I checked your site, and the banner now dismisses correctly for me.

  I think I’ll be needing recos for themes that is similar to Sidekick features. Can you name a few so that I can try them out?

  Sidekick is actually a bit slim as far as features go these days. However, you can find all our single-column themes, with support for custom headers and Portfolio projects here:

  You can also play around a bit with the other filters available in the theme showcase at My Site ->Themes to see what new features are available that might be useful to you.
