Copied Website
-
Hi- I cancelled my website mrsbishop.com last year, through WordPress, my Web Host, and my domain host. Somehow it is up and running again- still using some of my old posts- and some they have changed the photos and content on. Has my old site been hacked? I really just want the whole thing taken down, as I cancelled it and didn’t want to post anymore. Is there any way to find out if it has been copied?
Thanks!WP.com: Unknown

Hi there,
We can’t help directly because we don’t host mrsbishop.com on our WordPress.com managed hosting. As a result, we can’t take a closer look at your site.
Instead your host (via Cloudflare DNS) uses the open-source variant of the WordPress platform (sometimes called “WordPress.org”) which functions differently than what we offer here on WordPress.com.
The good news is that help is available through your domain registrar, which I can see here appears to be GoDaddy: https://gwhois.org/mrsbishop.com+dns
You can contact GoDaddy support and ask them to cancel your domain and that will take any associated sites offline. Hope this helps point you in the right direction!

If you definitely didn’t renew your domain then it becomes available again and it is possible that someone else purchased it. That is the reason I personally would never risk owning a domain with my name in the title that needed paying for annually. At some point in the future it would become available and could be filled with spam or pornography.
