What is the Copy a Page function do? Whenever I click it from the side menu it creates a new page. Am I doing something wrong?

The Copy a Post feature is described here http://en.support.wordpress.com/writing-helper/copy-a-post/
Maybe you are looking for the Press This feature http://en.support.wordpress.com/press-this/ -
I didn’t ask for the Copy a Post feature.
Please re-read, I specified Copy a Page feature. When I click it, it creates a new page…that is not what I want to do, I literally want to copy and existing page because the format will remain the same for infinity.

I searched the support docs at http:éésupport.wordpres.com for Copy a Page and found no results http://en.support.wordpress.com/writing-helper/copy-a-page
I searched Google and found several forum threads. This one may be helpful:

Ah, ok…that link in the quote box had the answer I was looking for. Have to make sure the writing helper is enabled so you can select which page you want to copy.
Works now. Thanks for the assistance.
In your Dashboard, click on Pages>Copy a Page. That will open the Page editor. You should see the “Writing Helper” in the bottom part of that page. Open it and select the Page you wish to Copy as a template.
