Copy a Post Functionality has Dissapeared
-
One of the standard options on the dashboard for posts is “copy a post”. I have used this in the past on our standard WordPress hosted site (wordpress.com) – it is extremely useful, with the ability to search for a post to copy from.
However, when selecting ‘Copy a post’ – it displays as a standard “add a post” with no ability to Copy – Yes we do have “Writer Helper” tickbox ticked on the Screen Options drop down (top right of the screen).
Has this functionality suddenly been dropped by wordpress? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This is an issue only when using the new Beep Beep Boop editor. See here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/please-reinstate-the-option-of-choice-to-use-the-old-publishing-format/page/32?replies=942#post-2338964
Features that won’t be included in the new editor
Post Revisions
Copy a Post
Link back to wp-adminSo don’t use it. Use the classic editor instead. You cannot deactivate the new Beep Beep Boop editor but you do not have to use it. For locating the ways and means of accessing the legacy or classic pages for creating posts, editing posts, and viewing stats see here > Navigating the Classic WordPress.COM interface http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2015/04/05/navigating-the-classic-wordpress-com-interface/

Thanks for the quick response timetheif
I am pretty new to wordpress but have previously used blogger.
I have been using the WPDashboard to get to copy a post – I do not use the BeepBoop Editor as found it does not seem to be as rich in functionality as accessing via the dashboard.
Your response made me go back and OPEN MY EYES.
Just spotted that on ‘Copy a Post’ – the ‘Writer Helper’ is not defaulting to showing as ‘open’ you need to select the dropdown arrow to open up the ‘Copy functionality’
This must of changed else I would never have discovered how to use it in the first place.
Thanks for your thoughts
