Copy and Paste

Don’t! Seriously, it’s the easiest way to mess up your blog. Word will put in all kinds of unnecessary tags and formatting that can have all sorts of bizarre and unforeseen consequences.
If you want, copy and past the text into the html version of the editor and then switch to visual to put in the formatting.

There is also the “paste from Word” button on the extended toolbar in the visual editor, but it is not foolproof. If you write in
Word, my suggestion is to paste what you have written into a plain text editor such as notepad or texedit, and then copy that out of the text editor and paste it into the wordpress editor.http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/11/09/why-not-to-use-word/
