Copy and Paste

    Recently, when i copy and paste content to a new blog post, it appears normal, but when i publish the post, the following shows up before my actual content:
    Normal
    0
    false
    false
    false
    EN-US
    X-NONE
    X-NONE
    MicrosoftInternetExplorer4
    /* Style Definitions */
    table.MsoNormalTable
    {mso-style-name:”Table Normal”;
    mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0;
    mso-tstyle-colband-size:0;
    mso-style-noshow:yes;
    mso-style-priority:99;
    mso-style-qformat:yes;
    mso-style-parent:””;
    It does not show when i “preview” the post, only once it’s published. I then have to go back and “edit” the post and then it shows up so i can delete it. Anyway to avoid this? It never used to happen and i’ve always copied and pasted for new posts.
    Thanks,
    Debby

  • Hi Debby,

    That’s from a quirk in Microsoft Word that includes a ton of HTML that can gunk things up quite a bit. We have a “Paste from Word” option in our editor that should remove the vast majority of that material.

    Microsoft Word

    If it doesn’t strip it out, switching to the Text Editor after pasting should reveal all of the gunk in advance so you can remove it prior to publication. (Our doc explaining how to switch and the difference: http://en.support.wordpress.com/editors/ )

    Thanks for using WordPress.com and please let me know if you have any questions.
