Hi onlyeightysix,
Just make sure that you have copied the link to your clipboard properly. In the address bar, highlight the link you want to copy and press Ctrl C (Windows) or Cmd C (Mac) or you can right click the highlighted link and click Copy.
Then just paste it using Ctrl V (Windows) or Cmd V (Mac) or you can right click in the body of the post and click Paste.
Hope this helps. :)

Staff have changed how the editor operates again

Hi there,
Sorry for the trouble you’ve had with it. I went into your draft post “ddd” and was able to insert a Youtube video both by pasting the URL and via the Add Media button. Can you tell me which method you were using?
My guess is this could be a browser-related issue that can be solved by clearing your browser cache. Can you please try that?

As far as I’m aware of, the new changes to the editor shouldn’t affect Youtube or SoundCloud embeds.
Please let me know if this remains a problem. Thank you!

Hi,
I have cleared my browser cache and the problem still remains, i saw that you had managed to paste links in. I can add a YouTube video via the ‘add media’ button now but still cant copy and paste as i used to, meaning i cant post SoundCloud links or any other URL link unless i use the ‘add media’ button for that as well but then if found it does not display in my post the way it used to once published.
Thanks for your help.

Hi there!
I apologize. It seems that pasting into the new post editor does cause issues and I overlooked it somehow. Can you tell if you were trying to paste using the right-click+paste method? For now, a workaround is to switch to Text Mode and paste by pressing CMD+V on your keyboard. Let me know if you have better luck with that. Thank you!

I thought this was an issue with the Kindle Fire as I can’t paste links (or anything else) now in my posts.

@jackalsiii: Sorry to hear about that. I had a colleague of mine test this on his Kindle Fire and was able to paste into the post editor on the Kindle browser. Can you give me more details about your device and browser, as well as how your method of pasting the text? Thanks!
