Copy CSS code from a text edit file
-
I decided to move back to Inuit Types theme. When I copy the old CSS code I had saved in a text edit file (not a word file) into the CSS editor it doesn’t work. Is there a problem with saving CSS code in a text edit file?
Of course, it’s also possible that there’s a strange character here or there that I haven’t found.
Thanks, Sandra

No, not really as long as it is set to save as plain text instead of rich text.
Open the file, go to the format menu and select “make plain text”. Then go to preferences and under “new document, set it to save as plain text. In “open and save” in preferences, make sure that “add .txt extension to plain text files is selected.
After doing that, do a “save as” on the file and it should convert it to plain text (make sure and keep the original copy of the file in RTF format till you are sure everything is OK.

If all else fails, you might have to retype that into the CSS edit window using file you have as a guide.

Oops, I looked in the wrong place for the “make plain text.” I’ll try that next time. In the meantime, it doesn’t work when I copy the code, but it works when I retype the code so I am on my way. Thanks for all your help and support. Aloha from the other side…of the island. :)
