Copy website structure for multiple sites
-
Hello everyone,
I have a question regarding the correct setup for my multiple WordPress sites.
I want to build multiple affiliate sites (for example: smartphones, speakers, microphones, etc.) on different domains and I want to be able to build the structure of the site once (headers, footers, site layouts, custom CSS, etc.) and then copy-and-paste the structure to the next site and change the content. Installing plugins is not the issue, I just want to avoid having to build all the footers, headers, CSS and pages again.
For example:
– smartphone.com <- install WordPress, plugins, theme; build structure (headers, footers, CSS); create content
-speakers.com <- copy everything from smartphone.com or install WordPress, plugins, theme and copy structure; only replace contentI am now unsure how to best set up a structure like that. Which themes could I use, which page builders and so on.
Can you please help pointing me in the right direction?
Kind regards,
Peter -
Hi there,
We do not have a way to copy one site to be used as the starting point for multiple sites.
However, one thing you can consider is to use a 3rd party migration plugin like this one to take an existing site and clone it: https://wordpress.com/plugins/all-in-one-wp-migration
This would allow you to set up a master site and then copy it over to other sites on your account so they use the same starting point.
Please note that to use plugins on WordPress.com will require our Business Plan, which you can learn more about here:
Also if you choose the yearly plan (instead of the monthly version it comes with a free domain for the first year, as well as 24/7 live chat support for any questions you have, so you do not need to wait for a reply in our forums.
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
