copying an existing webpage into a 'new' page.

I have set up a practice wordpress site with the view to seeing if it will work for me in bringing over an existing family website that has been created in Frontpage. There are years of newsletters in the existing site and they are very heavy in photos. I’ve tried a few ways of bringing the newsletter pages over and copying them into a ‘new page’ and it works – but the pics don’t come over – just the table they were sitting in. If I can’t figure out way to bring the pics over, it’s going to mean a tremendous amount of work reinserting all the pics. Any ideas on how to get the pics to come over with the rest of the page?

A proper import would be the way to do this, but i’m unsure if there’s a way to export from a Frontpage website. You may require staff assistance. Contact them via your dashboard Help button.

    Hi,
I have exported a wordpress.org site into wordpress.com and want to know what happens with all the SEO from teh .org site?

There is no SEO in the .com dash settings menu

It’s gone. If you changed the URL of the website, you start over with a pagerank of zero. WordPress.com is pretty optimized for SEO (moreso than virtually all independent .org sites) so you should recover within a few months.

You can map the domain name you had on the .ORG site to the .COM blog here if you still have, or are going to keep that domain name. In that case, you would not lose any of your search engine ranking.
