copying media from one site to another

    Does anyone know, please, if it is possible to copy or transfer media between sites? I uploaded a load of photographs to my original site/domain and spent ages captioning and describing them all. However, I decided they would work better on a new site, which I have now created. Uploading my pictures to the media library of my new site is easy enough, but I really could do without the hassle of re-captioning them all, so can I just copy or move them from my old site to my new one?
