i need a gif from Wiki to put in the article. do you think it will be a violation of the cpoyright even if I post it with the esource?

As a practical matter, most image sources have no issue with image use as long as it’s properly accredited with a direct link and a name and not used for commercial gain. If you’re taking from Wikipedia, I believe they have a Creative Commons license that spells this out; search around their site for terms of use and you should find it.

Not that we’re offically telling you to do that of course. Best bet at the very least is to give copyright credit for the image.
