Copyright

    Hello:

Thank you for addressing some of my previous problems… however, there are new ones.

I recently began a new blog and included a Creative Commons copyright license. After realizing that the theme, Hemingway, does not support a number of the features I was looking for, I’ve been searching for alternative themes. Although my initial post content remained as I tried other themes, my Creative Commons license has disappeared. I recall that one of the themes I tried, the Copyright Notice was still among my widgets. However, now I no longer have the copyright or the widget. Is there a list of themes that describe in detail the features that each one offers? Is there a glossary that describes all the terms? Why did my content carry-over, but my copyright did not? What happened to my Copyright Notice widget?

There is content that I would like to post on my blog, but I don’t want to do so until I have a fully functional blog that is copyright protected.

Additionally… my blog is still not appearing in Firefox.

Your assistance is much appreciated…. thanks.

    Regards,
    Jules

P.S. Once again… I’ve paid you for an Upgrade, Videopress and No-Ads… so I am not using WordPress as a free service.

Sometimes when you switch from theme to theme depending on how the sidebars compare, the widgets may disappear from the sidebar, but they are NOT gone.

If you go to appearance > widgets and scroll to the bottom of that page, you should find the text widget with your CC license code in the “inactive” widgets area. Just drag it back up and to the sidebar. You can collapse the top section of “available” widgets by clicking on the right end of the blue title bar for that section, which will bring the inactive widgets section up to the top of the page for you.

It has been known that switching themes can cause some widgets to no longer display. Have you looked in your Dashboard>>Widgets to see if they are at the bottom portion and can just be dragged back to the sidebar?

As another user (since this is the user-to-user support forum), I can only suggest making a backup text copy of your widgets for just such occasions. I also keep a Draft post with all my text widgets so I can copy the HTML again if needed.

As for themes, you’ll find various details in these posts:

Thank you. I lost the widget too, but have made another as well as a back-up to have right at hand should I lose it again.

    Much appreciated,
    Jules
