Copyright & plugin

    Hello. So far my searches have been futile. I am new to wordpress and I’m just starting to differentiate the difference between the .org & .com wordpress platforms. I’m paying the $26/yr subscription to make the name of the blog easier to remember (removes WordPress). I suppose that makes me a premium member?

    Can I add copyright notice under WordPress.com (I have friends with the .com platform and have the ‘c’ logo for copyright? Also, can I install plugin. Every search seems to recommend something but never bother to mention that plugins can only be installed for WordPress.org. I’m learning my way around the technology (go easy on me) :)

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • You can add a copyright notice with the use of Custom CSS wich is part of the Premium Plan.
    Once you have the upgrade you can insert the following CSS code to your Customizer

    .site-info:after {
      content: "Copyright Text";
    }

    Plugins are not allowed in WordPress.com but the most popular plugin functionality is build-in.

  • You only have Custom Domain upgrade on your blog. Premium plan includes few other upgrades as well.

    You can check what is available in Premium plan on this page: https://wordpress.com/plans/compare

    You can add copyright logo or message, but that requires Custom Design upgrade that is part of Premium upgrade.

    Most of the plugins functionality is available automatically on WordPress.com so there isn’t a way to add plugins. If there is a particular plugin that is critical to your site, but is not available on WordPress.com, then self-hosting is the way to go for you.
