Copyrighted material stolen
-
Site which lists “Powered by WordPress” on the bottom has stolen a full article of mine (and others). The site not only published article, photo’s and all, but accepts advertising. When I click on the “Powered by WordPress” link at the bottom, it leads me to wordpress.org which has no link of E-mail in order to lodge a copyright complaint, As the owner of the site says he receives the posts automatically from WP, I though it might be from Automattic but, when I lodge a complaint there, it says it is not and Automattic site. I have spoken with an attorney as owner refuses to take down article and, as you can see by his statements in response to the many complaints about his theft from many people, owner will not budge. I have written him 3 times (all of my comments have been awaiting moderation for a few days). The URL of my article on his site is http://www.tinseltownews.com/mr-beckett-keeps-me-waiting/ and the URL of the originally published article is http://dropmeanywhere.com/2014/08/06/mr-beckett-keeps-me-waiting/

Hi there,
You are correct, tinseltownews.com is not hosted with WordPress.com or Automattic. It is a self-hosted WordPress.org site (more on the difference between the two right here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/).
There isn’t much we can do to help with this situation, however I can give you some additional information based off of a couple of quick searches that I just made.
First, here is the whois information for tinseltownews.com, it may come in handy:
http://who.is/whois/tinseltownews.com
Second, the site is hosted with a company called aincon.com. While they don’t appear to have any obvious means to submit DMCAs, they do provide a means by which you can contact them right here: http://aincon.com/about/contact-us/
Hopefully this helps!

Thank you so much. A lawyer friend directed me to who.is which led us to believe it may be hosted by GoDaddy, but we weren’t sure. Curious how you figured out it is aincon. I’ll submit to them and see where it goes. It’s quite obvious this person knows what they’re doing and I have no doubt that if their host shuts them down, they’ll reopen under another name. The address listed for their site reg. is a P.O. Box and the phone number is invalid.

The domain is registered with GoDaddy, that is correct, but what you have to do is look at the nameservers (which are ns1.aincon.com and ns2.aincon.com). The nameservers of a domain indicate where the associated website is being hosted, and the webhost is what you want.
Let me know if you need anything else!
