  Just out of curiosity is anything I post on wordpress protected through wordpress? I have an account with myfreecopyrigt.com but I want to protect my work in as many ways possible. I plan on going through the US Copyright Office when I can afford to but for now I would like all the protection I can get.

  WordPress.com does not administer your copyrights: that’s your responsibility.

  You don’t need to pay for copyright protection, but you can if you want. Look at Copyscape or Creative Commons for some free options that are widely respected.
