  Hi, I can’t find out whether I am paying for WordPress or not.

  The site I need help with is globalexpatriate2020.wordpress.com.

  If your site address is globalexpatriate2020.wordpress.com that means you have a free plan. Only free plans come with .wordpress.com address.

  You can also check this address to see your purchases: https://wordpress.com/purchases

  That’s not entirely true.
  On paid plans, you can register a custom domain, but you’re not obliged to do so; you can keep using the free subdomain if you prefer.
